This Privacy Policy explains how Expire ("Expire", "we") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you use the mobile app and this website. We take your privacy seriously and process your data in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

By using Expire, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1.Who controls your data

2.Data we collect

We collect the following data, most of it provided directly by you during sign-up and use of the app:

Account data: name (or nickname), age, gender and email (optional).

Data about your habits and health: whether you use cigarettes, vapes/pods or both, for how long, how often, your triggers and the symptoms you report. This data may reveal information about your health and receives reinforced protection.

Progress data: daily check-ins, craving logs, dates and milestones of your journey.

Subscription and purchase data: subscription status and transaction identifiers, processed by the app stores (App Store and Google Play) and our paywall providers.

Technical and usage data: device model, operating system, language, app identifiers, usage events and crash diagnostics.

3.How we use your data

Create and personalize your quit plan and calculate your savings, milestones and recovery.

Operate features such as the counter, check-ins, craving tools, content and community.

Send reminders and notifications you enable.

Process subscriptions and prevent fraud.

Understand app usage, fix bugs and improve the experience.

Comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

4.Legal bases

We process your data based on your consent (which you can withdraw at any time), the performance of our contract (providing the service you requested), compliance with legal obligations, and legitimate interest for security and product improvement. Health-related data is processed based on your specific, highlighted consent.

5.Sharing with third parties

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with processors that help us deliver the service, under contract and on our instructions:

Analytics and product: Firebase (Google) and PostHog.

Error monitoring: Sentry.

Paywall and subscriptions: Superwall, Paywallo and the Apple App Store and Google Play stores.

Authentication: Apple and Google, when you choose to sign in with those providers.

Marketing (optional): Meta and TikTok, only if enabled and with your consent.

We may also disclose data when required by law or to protect rights, safety and integrity.

6.Data retention

We keep your data for as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your personal data, except what we must retain by law.

7.Security

We apply technical and organizational measures proportional to the risk, such as encryption in transit, access controls and monitoring. No system is 100% secure, but we work continuously to protect your data.

8.Your rights

At any time you may: confirm whether we process your data; access, correct or update it; request portability or deletion; withdraw consents; and object to certain processing. 9.Health data and sensitivity

Expire is a wellbeing support tool and does not provide medical services. Information about your smoking habits and symptoms is treated as sensitive data and used only to personalize your experience, based on your consent.

10.Children and minors

Expire is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we identify such data, it will be deleted.

11.International transfers

Some of our providers operate outside your country. In those cases, we apply appropriate safeguards so your data remains protected.

12.Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When there are material changes, we will notify you in the app or by other means and, where required, ask for renewed consent.
